King of the Roll More of a Prince, but still good.

Published by llwesman at 9:10 pm under Food and Dining Edit This

King of the Roll, a small sushi restaurant located in downtown Larkspur, is a bustling little lunch and dinner joint with a busy takeout business to boot. Their sushi is fresh and their sushi rice is very good. The restaurant itself is very small, there is only enough room for about 30 customers total. There is also outdoor seating for nice days and a tiny sushi bar.

The food is fringe average to above average and the fish portions in the sushi is quite good. Sometimes it can be a bit bland, a flaw that varies depending on who the working chefs are. Owner John Wayne is an interesting character and he is definitely into customer satisfaction. However the waitresses can sometimes be hard to get ahold of and the chefs have a habit of inserting wasabi into your sushi even when you specifically ask for it not to be added. Relatively well priced sushi that’s decent, a good choice if you’re in the area.  Overall Grade: B
